Seeing as Hamad was leaving the country, we decided to squeeze in one last meeting two days before he left, since he was extremely busy getting everything prepared. He said he'd be leaving Tallahassee for a couple years, but would definitely want to come back and visit. We talked about the transition he was about to face. He was going back to his home country for a while, which he was excited about because he really misses the food there, but was definitely going to miss his friends. He was pretty sad about the fact that he wasn't going to FSU, but he said that wasn't going to get in the way of him becoming a Chemical Engineer :) Anyway, we shared things we liked about America, and things he'd miss culturally, which is the independence on his part. Back in Kuwait, it's a lot more family oriented, which he still loves, but he likes having friends here that understand him in different ways. Hamad also liked the variety of perspectives different people in America offered. Anyway, we said goodbye after walking around a bit, and this time we didn't make the mistake of buying snow cones that were too sweet for him. I told him I would try and visit :)
