Topic/Skill: Reading and Writing, Robots

Feedback provided to tutee: Matthew read a story about robots and highlighted any vocabulary he did not know. We went over the unknown vocabulary and Matthew answered comprehension questions about the passage. Again, he answered main theme and topic questions very easily but had to go back and references sections in order to answer fine-detail questions. I then asked Matthew to write his own story, using the new vocab, about creating his own robot. Together we corrected his punctuation, spelling, and capitalization errors.

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: I learned that Matthew enjoys writing his own stories. I learned that incorporating visual aids like pictures and small games allows interest and attention to be kept.
