Topic/Skill: Listening, Animation

Feedback provided to tutee: We discussed trends in animation and celebrities. We talked about the differences of how movies and celebrities are view across cultures. DoJun had trouble understanding some idiomatic phrases as well as faster speech. We discussed how using context clues to guess meaning was helpful and that even for native speakers listening can be difficult and words are not always heard.

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: I learned that it is important to find interesting things to teach and talk about for both you and the tutee in order to facilitate meaningful interaction. I learned that DoJun doesn't normally watch animation, but that Japanese animation is quite popular in South Korea.
