Inhwa

Topic/Skill: Reading Comp and Pronounciation

Feedback provided to tutee: Like always, Inhwa and I began our lessons with a little intonation practice. I again sped up my sentences to make it harder and more difficult for her to pick out which word I stressed, but she seems to be getting pretty good at it. We reading a review about the Martian movie together, her reading out loud, and even while she was telling me about her upcoming trip to LA, I noticed that Inhwa really does have a hard time picking out the "L" sound. Most Koreans, and Asians in general, really struggle with this sound, so I did minimal pairs with her to see what improvement we could get.

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: Inhwa likes to read, and she wanted to work on her proficiency and comprehension, which I actually thought was pretty good. I really think it was the pronunciation that she struggled the most with. That's why, towards the end of the lesson, we focused on this above all.
