Jordan TS #11

Date/Time: June 7 4:45
Location: Library
Topic/Skill: Reading comprehension
Feedback provided to tutee:  David improved greatly with his focus and overall speed accomplishing the assignment compared to the last time we went over reading comprehension.

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: For this lesson we read an article about a painting called The Burning of the House of Lords and Commons. This reading assignment required David to think a lot about the message both the author and the painter were trying to convey in their work. Unlike the previous assignment where David mainly just had to find the information from the article and rewrite it. This lesson required him to really think about what was being said and to search for the meaning behind the words. At first, he struggled slightly trying to answer questions such as, “ How could the mood of this painting best be described?” but after a few similar questions he eventually got the hang of things and was able to smoothly answer the questions.
