Topic/Skill: Reading and Writing, vocabulary and Harry Potter

Feedback provided to tutee: Matthew really enjoyed and truly learned while using his vocabulary in context, in the context of something he found interesting. We read through sections of Harry Potter and found clips online that demonstrated his various vocabulary words. Then he wrote down these examples while using the new vocabulary. Matthew finds writing slow and boring, but when writing about a topic he enjoyed it was not as much of a burden.

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: I learned that different activities and using vocabulary in context is an amazing way to teach vocabulary. I also learned that Matthew needs practice with capitalization and punctuation.
