Topic/Skill: Confidence Feedback provided to tutee: My tutee felt more comfortable asking me clarifying questions and pointing out when my vocabulary, pronunciation, or speed confused her. Then we would discuss those points of confusion in more detail, such as idioms and expressions.
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: Building confidence might often come before any other tutoring session focused more on grammar, reading, writing, or speaking. That being said, we both took sufficient time to get to know each other and establish an environment that was positive and encouraging.
