Feedback provided to tutee: We discussed common parts of casual conversational English, such as asking the other person questions, maintaining eye contact, and perceptions of "awkward silence".
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: Again, building confidence through casual conversational English and asking questions seems to build a positive learning environment. Because of the relationship we already established, it was easy and comfortable to provide error feedback. Also, ordering at restaurants provides a great opportunity for practice because the English learner has to speak confidently without much time to prepare.
