Topic/Skill: Listening, Work and life

Feedback provided to tutee: We discussed how the typical work day varies from country to country, and of course, from job to job. We talked about how companies, internships, and jobs are normally run in South Korea and America. DoJun had trouble understanding the main point of a TED talk because it was quite subtle and talked about quickly only at the end. DoJun mistook the example as the main point. We discussed how the majority of the video was focused on the example, but that with more careful listening a few times over the message could be understood (even without understanding every word that was said).

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: I learned that DoJun had seen TED talks as a part of HR initiatives at his company, and that TED talks are mainly used as an educational resource. I learned that it is okay and important to be honest about what you do and don't know about a topic.
