Topic/Skill: Talking on the phone/Listening
Feedback provided to tutee: So Inhwa really expressed to me at the beginning of our tutoring session, she really wanted to learn how to speak on the phone in English more coherently and also get used to answering calls and speaking to other people in English. Basically, she wanted to develop English listening skills on the phone haha, which I thought was cool, and it absolutely worked out since she was in LA haha.
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: So what I did is we exchanged greetings, and it was definitely a little awkward at first, because Inhwa was giggly and didn't really know what to say. Once we got comfortable, I started telling her a story that I read from the internet to test her comprehension over the phone, and things did seem a little unclear, but after I repeated details once or twice, she understood. Inhwa then told me how her travels were going, and she seemed to be, again, a little uncomfortable speaking on the phone, but she did a good job! Her words were pretty clear for the most part, which was awesome!
