Feedback provided to tutee: David did a good job at recognizing the main points and summarizing the message
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: To start the lesson and gain David’s attention I had him watch a short fan-made superhero video and then summarize the episode telling me about the main characters and a general run through of what was happening in the episode. After this, David read an article that was provided by his mom about a family moving to South Korea in search of a better life. The reading and the expected responses were a bit above what I would have considered to be David’s level but he still managed to find answering the questions with a little help understanding a few words and phrases.
