Tutoring with Juyoon 5-31-16
Juyoon and I met up at Cies to work on speaking practice. We
worked on speaking and talked about United States speech patterns. We talked
about how people from the United States are typically polite and say thank you
after a compliment where people in Korea are more modest when it comes to
accepting compliments. It is interesting to learn about how different countries
and cultures speak differently. These speech patterns can be an obstacle when
tutoring or teaching in English. As I pursue a job in teaching English abroad I
will need to remember to keep this fact in mind.
