Topic/Skill: Independent and dependent clauses
Feedback provided to tutee: I told David that he was improving his skills with identifying clauses and gave him a worksheet to continue practicing at home
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: David’s mom gave me a few handouts that were returned by the teacher and I noticed that one of the areas that he appeared to be having the most trouble with was clauses. For this lesson, we spent some time going over the worksheet and discussing the decisions he made and his justification for his choices. I went through and redid the assignment with him explaining each of the changes we were making. After we finished I gave him a new sheet for him to do this time mostly by himself with me only correcting him when needed.
