provided to tutee: I assisted Sung-ju with sounding out words for reading and finding words starting with certain letters.
Lessons learned: Sung-ju really enjoys reading and I enjoy picking out books in the library so we like to pick out many books and read them together. He is very bright and can read most words, it's just the longer ones he has difficulty with. But I found an activity where you call them "Letter Detective" and basically you write out letters of the alphabet and ask the child to find words starting with each letter. He had fun with this.
