Cultural Topics you and your partner learned: Rayan and I met for coffee and we started off by talking about his classes. He is a foundations level student, which made our conversations a little bit difficult to have right from the get go. He told me he does not really feel like his English has improved too much since he has been in the states, but he also has not really pushed himself to practice English as much as he should. I asked him about what he likes to do during his free time here in Tallahassee and he told me that he does not have a means of transportation, so he does whatever he can walk to. He likes to go to the club, he’s been to a couple movies in town, and he wanted to go on some of the trips with CIES. We talked about travel; we both really like traveling. He told me the best place he has ever visited was Dubai. He loved the beaches and the beautiful city structures. He asked me about my favorite trip and I told him I loved my trip to Israel, I loved the differences of the religions and how the country itself was unlike anything else I had ever experienced.
