Julie TS #15

Date/Time: June 15, 2016/11:00am

Location: Leon County Library

Topic/Skill: Reading, Addition

Feedback provided to tutee: Sung-ju was very hyper today and I needed to reel him in. I helped him with reading and taught him how to do some addition.

Lessons learned: We read three books this time, a reading passage with comprehension questions in one of his workbooks, and I taught him a little more "advanced" addition using numbers in the hundreds. He's really smart and good at things, but he tends to become overconfident in his ability to do tasks, so he tends to stray from the task I'm teaching and that's why I wanted to try to test him a bit on "advanced" addition. I didn't make it too hard, Sung-ju was still pretty good at it. He has numbers in the hundreds down, it's just when it comes to reading numbers in the thousands (even 1,000) he says is "10 hundred!"
