Topic/Skill: Simple future tense and negatives
Feedback provided to tutee: Diana said she feels ready for
her three exams tomorrow. So we simply continued going over simple future
tense. We went over I will statements (I will take a shower,) then we turned
the I will statements into a questions (Will you take a shower?) We turned the
I will statements into negative statements (I will not take a shower,) and then
we made the I will questions into negative questions (Will you not take a
shower?) We did this for both the I will and the to be going to statements.
Some feedback I provided Diana with was to be careful with where she placed the
negative words in her sentences.
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: At the
beginning of the lesson, I thought we were just going to go over negatives
within the I will and the to go going to statements for the simple future
tense. But I ended up teaching Diana how to turn these phrases into questions
as well. It was really fun just rolling with the punches, and Diana said she
liked learning the new skill as well.
