David TS#16

Date/Time: Wed, 01 Jun 2016, 1030a
Location: Tutee’s residence
Topic/Skill: Reading and comprehension

Feedback provided to tutee: The tutee was given positive feedback. He was also told, after becoming very frustrated with a particular question, that he is not expected to know all the answers; the tutor’s job is to help him with those things he doesn’t understand, he just needs to ask.

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: Tutoring children is very challenging. I have not interacted with children of any age very often, so it is difficult to know how to i engage them in material. In addition, they have a lot of energy, so it seems that it would be appropriate to find more physical learning activities for those occasions when they have a difficult time sitting still.
