Topic/Skill: Speaking and Listening (note-taking)
Feedback provided to tutee: Fadia did not have anything specific she wanted to work on, so I chose a speaking and listening lesson with a cultural component for this session. I had her ask me basic cultural interview questions from a list off the internet. I guided her throughout the lesson and made sure she didn't focus too much on the accuracy of her note-taking since she had to write them in a fast-pace and they were only for her personal purpose of speaking afterwards about me.
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: Fadia initially wrote down many notes and focused so much on it, and later on after reminding her to only write down key words and to pay more attention to listening, she was more engaged and relaxed in the interviewing where she ended up being able to pick up things and remember it without writing it all down. This helped for when she spoke back to me what she learned, but the notes were also helpful.
