Jessica L. TS #15

Date/Time: 6/11/16, 9pm

Location: Skype - Korea

Topic/Skill: Speaking

Feedback provided to tutee: Today I asked Jun what he wanted to do since he thought the lesson last time was very hard. Although it was very hard I think he did really well and tried hard to do his best, so I wanted to give him the choice this time. He said he wanted to play the describing game that Emily introduced to him so he explained it to me and that is what we did. I changed it a little bit where I drew a picture and he described it, but he had to make it into a story that started with "Once upon a time.."

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned:  I learned that it was really beneficial asking him what he wanted to do best. Last sessions he was quick to say that the session was over maybe because he did not like the activity, but this time we went over the time limit and he was fine with it because he really enjoyed the lesson. I think I should've switched up the activities more because he must have gotten bored with the listening videos and reading passages, but he really enjoyed this game where he told a story based of my picture I drew. He was very creative in his stories and was able to speak for a long time.
