Topic discussed: Cultural exchange workshop: stereotypes and generalizations
Cultural and/or linguistic topics you and your partner learned: In small groups, they students discussed six key works they identify as being part of their character. All four students Juyoon and I were grouped with listed their national identity, family relations (son, brother, etc) and religious affiliation as part of their identity. In addition, the students asked Juyoon about Korean culture (kissing on the cheek as sexual harassment, “Samsung” cities) and me about American culture (fast food culture and it’s contribution to weight, student loans).
