Feedback provided to tutee: Kai was given very positive feedback. His main focus at this time is to work on his spoken grammar and pronunciation. He speaks quickly without a great deal of pauses, but his spoken grammar structure is occasionally weak and there are many words he struggles to pronounce in a comprehensible way. We will be working on he ability to pronounce certain phonemes within words.
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: Tutoring this student will be challenging because it will require a great deal of attention to his spoken words, which are sometimes difficult to understand due to an accent and poor phoneme knowledge. As for grammar considerations, I will need to be very aware of the different ways of approaching incorrect grammar structures so that he will discern the incorrectness of his speak and rectify it himself, as opposed to giving him the correct way of saying a particular sentence and having him repeat it.
