Topic/Skill: Pronunciation
Feedback provided to tutee: The tutee was told that it was obvious that he had been working on the pronunciation issues that we had been working on.
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: The tutee is still struggling to differentiate the sounds /a/ (bat) and /e/ (bet). However, minimal pair work has helped him to find a way to distinguish between these two sounds when making them (he has no problem hearing the difference). It was also observed that the tutee had a tendency to drop the final /n/ in syllables that end in -an (pan, ban) and the final /g/ (sing, thing).
