Topic discussed: We discussed our families, learning styles, and the reasons she is learning English. My conversation partner told me about her children and their different personalities. She asked me many questions about my experience going to undergrad at FSU because her daughter will start looking at U.S. colleges soon. We talked about other good state schools and the application process.
Cultural and/or linguistic topics you and your partner learned: We discussed coffee and coffee culture in Dubai and the U.S. I learned about the differences between Arabic coffee, Turkish coffee, and Greek coffee, as well as the common ways to drink Arabic coffee.
