Jessica L. TS #2

Date/Time: 5/11/16, 6:30pm

Location: Skype - Korea

Topic/Skill: Speaking

Feedback provided to tutee: Jun's parents discussed that he needed to work on holding a conversation and focusing on the main idea and not to drift off and ask random questions not pertaining to the topic. I started a topic about Jun's visit to Disney and had him explain in detail his trip.

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: Jun explained his Disney trip and would often get distracted and ask me random questions, but I kept him focused and encouraged him to focus on the topic. I asked him questions about his trip to get him to speak more about it, asking him to use adjectives and verbs to describe his visit. I had him explain the differences of each grammatical part of speech, and he got them right. Jun has trouble with longer tutoring sessions, especially since it is 7:30 in the morning in Korea when we skype, he may be able to focus more later in the day.
