Topic/Skill: Informal Phrases/Words - Vocabulary
Feedback provided to tutee: I told Dojun stories today and taught him new vocabulary. I taught him the meaning of informal words such as "ratchet," "sketchy," and "shady." I also taught him idioms such as "beating a dead horse" and "pulling my leg."
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: Dojun is very knowledgeable about academic vocabulary and can describe his job at the airport very well, but has difficulty when it comes to slang words we use in the U.S. That was the focus of today's lesson!
