Topic/Skill: Minimal pairs and general conversation for grammatical issues
Feedback provided to tutee: The tutee improves in his pronunciation with minimal pairs every time.
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: After reviewing some minimal pair work we had done previously, the tutee and I had a conversation so that I could listen specifically for grammatical issues. The two most prominent issues were the omission of the plural s and that his often has ‘his’ in place of ‘her’. There were also colloquial issues where his English would be correct, but the way he expressed his idea was atypical. He was also confused about the question “Where did you meet?”, in which he did not understand the intent.
