Topic discussed: Life in Oman vs Life in the US. Hamdan spoke about his motivations for coming to the states and for learning English. He aspires to follow his father's footsteps into business.
Cultural Topics You and Your Partner Learned: Honestly Hamdan's low level of functionality (level 1) in English is a strong barrier to communication, so a chunk of our time was dedicated to tutoring like activities like what is the difference between will and shall, what does would, should and except mean and other topics like that. Hamdan found my timeline of English verb tenses to be helpful. I learned a little about Mecca and Medina and the geography of Oman. I also shared my desire to visit his country.
