Feedback provided to tutee: We worked on several words to discover where his weaknesses were and the tutee did a great job working hard to hear the difference between /e/, as in bet, and the /a/, like in bad. He was given a short list of words to work on at home to further improve his pronunciation of these two sounds.
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: Working on pronunciation is very challenging. Sometimes it is hard to hear the difference in the words he is trying to pronounce. Furthermore, I need to find a website that might help describe how to make these sounds for a Chinese speaker, as the tutee struggled with how to make how to position his tongue and how open his mouth should be.
