Topic Discussed: Today, I met with my Conversation Partner Jaime Carneiro for the first time. He is from Portugal and speaks Portuguese, French, and Spanish. We discussed our personal lives and got to know each other. Carneiro is a middle aged gentleman with a son and a daughter that are in their 30's. He is a lawyer and is here in the U.S. to learn English.
Cultural topics you and your partner learned: I learned that Portugal isn't as developed as the United States and is a small country. The people there speak Portuguese and it is a predominantly Catholic country. I learned that the country has beautiful beaches and mountains and Carneiro said that I should visit sometime! He also taught me a few words in Portuguese and wants me to practice them before we meet next.
