Date/Time: 28th April, 1pm
Topic/Skill: Error correction, Transition words, using transition words on speech
Teacher presentation: Explains the concept of transition words and why we use them. Provides a list of them so students can learn and classify them by meanings. Also provides an activity for students to practice transition words.
Classroom Management: The teacher tried to listen to as many students as she could. During activities, she walked around and checked if they were doing fine.
Materials: A sheet with several sentences and transitions words. One student picks one transition word, then the other student picks one sentence and add a sentence using the word.
Student Participation: The teacher asked a lot of questions so the students can answer. She also provided several activities so the students actually can practice what they learned. Every students got to do 1 minute speech at the end of the class.
Feedback provided: Perhaps it could have been better if she explained more about why some answers were wrong. Sometimes I felt like she was moving on too fast.
Lessons learned about teaching: It was impressing that the teacher brought more information about what the students had been confused about last time, and promised to prepare the same for the next class. I realized that teaching requires more efforts and attention than I thought.
